The Nikon D5000 is incredibly easy to get to grips with, and it comes with a host of automatic modes to make your life simpler. It even boasts an HD video recording mode and an adjustable screen to really open up the options.
The D5000 is great for all kinds of photography. Thanks to its 2.7-inch LCD screen, you can line up your shot carefully and capture your subjects when they're looking their best.
In addition to its Live View mode, the D5000 boasts the D-Movie mode, previously seen on the D90, to enable you to record HD videos with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution at a rate of 24 frames per second.
With its 12-megapixel CMOS sensor, this SLR camera is more than capable of shooting crisp, highly-detailed images. The D5000 is equipped with 11 AF points and 3D tracking, which keeps the focus on subjects even if the composition changes.
The D5000's different scene modes and automatic white balance nicely round off the package.
When it comes to maintenance, you won't have to lift a finger! The D5000 from Nikon incorporates a dual dust-removal system, complete with low-pass filter vibrations and airflow control.
